- This screen will go by very quickly as the files necessary
to setup are extracted
- On top of this will come another window showing you the overall progress
of the install
NOTE: If you have a previous version (or the Basic Content filter
software) this version will uninstall it first and then install the
security suite. You may be prompted to restart your computer up to 3-times.
The is normal.
|

|
- Once installation has been completed, you will have
to restart your computer. To do this simply click the Restart
program
|
 |
- Once your computer has restarted, the basic content
filter software has successfully been installed on your computer.
It will open a wizard to configure the options.
|
|
- The wizard should start automatically.
- Choose the options you wish to install. By default, all options are
checked.
- If you already have a piece from another company, DO NOT
install a second version. For example, if you have Norton Anti-Virus
already on your machine take the check out of AntiVirus.
Similarly if you already have ZoneAlarm installed as
a firewall on your machine take the check out of Firewall.
This is important because having multiple pieces of software doing the
same things can lead to unexpected problems.
- Once you have chosen what you want to install, click Next
to continue
|
 |
- This screen makes sure you have the pieces you want.
If this screen is correct, click Next to continue. Otherwise
click Back to go Back and make changes.
|
 |
- Here you have two options. You can use the Quick
Start settings, which are pretty good for most people, or you
can customize them to suit yourself.
- For this document, we'll assume you'll customize them.
Put the dot in Customize Settings Setup, and make sure
everything underneath it has a checkmark beside it.
- Click Next to continue
|
 |
- Here again you have two options: You can use the Setup
Wizard to guide you through. Or, you can go right to the Control
Center.
- For this document we'll be using the Setup Wizard
to setup everything.
Put the dot beside Use Setup Wizard and click Next
to continue. |
 |
- Depending on the options you chose when installing,
this screen may or may not be like yours. We chose to install the anti-virus
protection, so that's the first thing that will be setup by default.
If your screen is for something different, just skip down this page
until you see the part that corresponds to what you are setting up.
- The best option here is to leave the dot in Update automatically
during startup. This means whenever you connect to the internet
you will always be the most up to date you can be without you having
to do anything other than surfing the internet!
- Click Next to continue
|
 |
- This is the scheduler for the anti-virus to scan your
computer.
- Although you have options, the best one is to use the default
and have your entire computer scanned every week at Saturday midnight
(remember to leave your computer on!)
Check whichever option you wish and click Next to continue.
NOTE: All these options can be changed later in the Control
Center.
|
 |
- This screen sets up the Firewall.
- The Enabled Low settings works well for most people.
You can of course, choose whichever strength you would like. Keep in
mind, however, the more strict your firewall settings, the fewer online
things you may not be able to do.
- For example, on the Enabled High setting, some chat
programs like MSN may not work.
- Choose your level and click Next to continue.
NOTE: These settings can all be changed in Control Center later. |
 |
- This screen sets up the Content Filter.
- You have the option of setting up a single account or creating everyone
an account. This choice is up to you, but we recommend leaving the setting
at Yes | Set up one default Administrator profile for
simplicities sake.
- Click Next to continue.
|
 |
- Choose the level of protection you want to use.
- Start off using Strict Protection by putting the
dot in that option.
- Click Next to continue.
NOTE: These options can be changed later in Control Center. |
 |
- This screen configures the Popup Killer
application
- Choose your level of protection. We highly recommend the Enable
Strong option. You are free to choose Enable Maximum,
but keep in mind that your internet experience will be substantially
restricted if no website anywhere is ever allowed to open another window
(for example, Hotmail opens a second window after you sign in for mail,
so Hotmail may not work on Maximum).
- Click Next to continue
|
 |
- You're done! If all the steps previous were to your
liking, put the dot beside Installation is complete
and click Finish.
- If you wish to change anything, put the dot in Continue and
make more changes to go back.
This step is not really required even if you want to make changes as
they can all be done in the Control Center. |
