Spam is basically unsolicited emails you receive. Usually these take
the form of advertisements for goods and services.
iGlide takes spam VERY seriously. We use cutting-edge server-side engines
to make the probability of you ever even seeing spam low. We also do
SMTP checks and compare against known spam databases to automatically
block from these addresses. However, it is impossible to stem the flow
of spam completely. For this reason we also employee a tool called Spam
Assassin that you can use to further stop the scourge of spam from reaching
your inbox. The following document will show you how to create your
own system of rules to help solve this problem.
There is a much more informative guide that can be found here
about what spam is and how it works.
This problem has also been taken up by the federal government. There
has been legislation enacted to stop spamming. It is called the CAN
SPAM Act (2003). A summary can be found by clicking here,
and the full-text version found by clicking here.
iGlide also has our own set of rules governing what this means. The
End User Licensing Agreement (also called a EULA, found here.)
specifically forbids the sending of spam through our systems. It is
well worth your while to read through this document, particularly sections
marked Content Responsibility and Abuse.
